Each member of our board shares a cohesive passion for our cause and a varied background in business. These unique skill sets lend a comprehensive approach to securing the mission of the foundation.

Aaron Barrett

Born and raised in Central Florida, Aaron grew up with a passion for baseball. He earned his B.S. in business management at the University of North Georgia, as a result of a full baseball scholarship. Through the years, his focus and commitment for the sport grew into that of giving back to the community and his family. Aaron and his wife Tara, have two wonderful children and hope to instill these same values in them. Aaron is the owner of Bear Residential Construction, a Florida-based licensed residential contractor and plumber, and serves as a subcontractor for one of the largest home improvement chains in the United States.

Will McReynolds

Will was the loving husband of Gina, and together they have 3 children (Clayton, Alexis, & Preston). Will met Gina while at FSU where Will was on the men's swim team. Currently working for BB&T Investments as a Financial Consultant, Will has over 10 years of experience in the financial industry. Will became a board member after the foundation helped his family during Gina's illness. In his spare-time he enjoys playing with his kids, watching FSU football, fishing, and playing golf. Will married Meggan in November of 2015 and together they have two young children - Madden and Maggie.

Matt Phillips

Matt and his wife Brandi have two beautiful daughters. Matt is the founder of OrangeSquare, a creative agency where he currently acts as the Principal / Creative Director. A graduate of Flagler College, Matt has nearly 20 years of experience in creative direction, design, advertising, and corporate branding and has been the driving force for all of the foundation's branding and collateral. In his spare time, you may find him enjoying a "tea party" with his wife and daughters.

Scott Smith

Scott and his wife Lindsey, together have 2 fur babies, Tucker and Maverick. Growing up in Apopka, he enjoyed playing sports and also began working with Publix during high school. What began part-time, turned into a 22 year career, with the final 2+ years as a Store Manager. He currently owns a medical courier company in the organ transplant space, known as DTE Services. He brings proven leadership and a community involved mindset to the board. In his free time, you can find him on the boat, experiencing the outdoors, traveling, and spending time with friends.

Tom Penney

Tom has been in the Central Florida area since 1986, and is a graduate of Lake Brantley High School. Tom married Jenny in 2005, and they have two beautiful children. Tom is the owner of Penney Appraisals, Inc., and has been in the real estate industry since 2003. In his spare time, Tom enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. Tom brings a strong commitment, networking experience and comedy to the group.
